I believe these bulletin boards are going to prove to be very useful as we work to build community here at Trinity. Please take initiative and post here when you are hosting an event, going to the park, attending Screen on the Green, etc... I think the spring/summer is a great time to explore the possibilities for community relationships that an online church bulletin board can provide!

Ed, great job on the website. I am so excited to see this new phase begin in the life of our church. It looks great.

Please pray that the construction schedule wraps up in a timely manner. I think we're a few months away from wrapping things up...

Our roommate just got married! So we now have a 1 bedroom and shared bathroom available. Monthly rent is $360 plus utilities. (The apartment is really nice, we just have an amazing deal on rent because we are locked into a low rate from over 4 years ago). We are looking for someone to move in as soon as possible. Non-smoking, responsible, no pets, and financially stable.

ABOUT US:
We have been attending Trinity regularly since Fall of 2007. I graduated from the University of Florida last May and work as a business consultant. Stephanie, the other roommate, recently graduated from Georgia Tech and is an architect. We love Jesus, outdoor sports, and LOST.

ABOUT THE APARTMENT:
The Mosaic Apartments at 5675 Roswell Rd. We are located near Perimeter Mall and I-285, only 5 miles from Buckhead and 15 minutes from Downtown. It's a great location.
3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Washer/dryer included. Balcony. Furnished common areas, but we have room for some of your large pieces. We are on the top floor of a 3-story (6 unit) building and have nice, quiet neighbors.

Let us know if you have any questions regarding the room or would like to visit. Thanks!

Hello,

I will be taking part in this event this year, and am trying to get people out to support my efforts! I have a full scale art exhibit at the opening event (May 9th at Mason Murer Gallery) , and 2 homes I designed gardens for on the home tour.
If you like design/architecture/art/modernism etc, this event is for you!
As an exhibitor and sponsor I receive 30% off tickets (normally $30 for one day) , so in an effort to get support from church folk, I am passing this deal along to everyone at church.
It will be a fun event, and tickets include the opening event Friday May 9th, where you can view our sculpture/bonsai display. There will also be all kinds of lectures, events and even a fashion show throughout the week,at various showroom spaces around town.
If you would like tickets, please email me your totals, and I will arrange to get them to you. Please let me know as soon as possible as I have a limited amount of discounted tickets.
For more info please go to www.modern-atlanta.org

Thanks!
Brendan

Those of you that may not be aware, early Saturday a cyclone hit the nation of Burma leaving over one-million people homeless and 22,000 dead with a death-toll rising very rapidly.
It's a very devastating situation... I can't imagine how out of control their government might be and the tons of families seperated.

I need work this summer, from the first week on June until Aug. 18th. (I'm a pre-school teacher and school is out for the summer.)

I have a lot of experience in many areas - retail, nursing, food industry, teaching, tutoring, nannying, administration. Favourite work is with children. :)

I'm pretty much willing to do anything, provided I don't have to drive really really far, and that it is well paid. I don't have a BA yet but I am CPR and first aid trained!

Please let me know if you know or hear of anything. THANK YOU.

I have had no problems. The leasing office is right next to my building meaning the main swimming pool, gym, and tennis courts are directly behind my building. This is also a great place for students because KSU is in walking distance. I have nice neighbors and everything is nice and quiet.

The apt is 700 sq ft. with a walk in closet and bar.
these are some more features it has :)

All of this will be done legally through the leasing office! If you decide to live here , your name will be put on the lease, and mine taken off , simple as that. It is not technically a sublet , but is. When the lease comes to an end in November you can choose to renew or not renew.

There is a deposit of $550 and pets are welcome :)

Unite! is an network of churches working together to serve and bring the hope and love of Christ through unified prayer, acts of service, compassion, and love. They've been connected to Vine City throughout the tornado relief, and are having another work day on Saturday. We thought this might be a neat way to partner with other churches in the work God is doing and has been doing alongside our neighbors in Vine City... here's the information off of the website:

Tornado Relief Volunteer Day - Saturday, May 17 (anytime b/w 8am - 4pm)

Unite! churches are working with the Fuller Center for Housing to organize a big push of volunteers for numerous work projects on Saturday, May 17 from 8am - 4pm. Join them for the full day or for a couple of hours. Every bit helps. Work projects include: removal of shingles and re-roofing a home, drywall demolish and replace, maybe some painting, putting on a few small tarps, cutting up trees and removing debris from yards to the street for the city to pick up. Bring your own water, snacks/lunch and sun block. Bring tools if you have them (i.e. hammer, gloves, ladder, saw, chain saw, etc). Volunteers will meet at the Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church parking lot (561 Spencer Street, Atlanta GA 30314). For more information, or to volunteer, contact Jeff Mitchell at 678-361-6969.

Prayer

My name is Faith, and I have been attending Trinity since the beginning of 2007. I usually go to the 8:00 service, and I have worked in the cafe some the last few months. I am leaving Sunday afternoon, May 18, for three months in Swaziland, a very tiny Southern African country. I will be living with a missionary friend of mine for the summer and doing HIV/AIDS prevention Bible studies with teenage girls. The study is called Cherish, and it is aimed at examining God's view of beauty, identity, relationships, and purity.

I was wondering if some of you wouldn't mind keeping me in your prayers this summer? I feel a little strange requesting prayer for this, since I only really know a handful of people at Trinity and know that my time in Africa should really not be any more purposeful/missional than my time here. I do however believe very strongly in the prayers of the Church, and I do consider Trinity my home church.

Specifically, my prayer requests are:

1. Unity for the team I will be on (my missionary friend, three Swazi girls, and myself)
2. Clarity about whether or not God wants me in Africa after I graduate college in December
3. That God will continually renew in me an attitude of humility and teachability when working with the teenage girls

Since I haven't met the girls in the studies yet, I really don't know what to pray for them specifically at the moment, but from my understanding, many of them will probably have lost at least one parent to HIV/AIDS and many are suffering from abuse.

I will be keeping up with a blog while I am there: faithinafrica.blogspot.com

Thank you so much. I love Trinity and will miss her very much the next few months.

I am seriously contemplating moving into a house in the city. I've looked at a few off I-20 on the West Side. This is a big step for me, so if there is any friendly advice you could give me about what to look for/expect/consider about moving into a house with roommates, I would very much welcome that. Also, I've been praying, but it never hurts to have somebody else help me pray about a big decision like this. Thanks guys!

Bright furnished room (approx 12*12) and private bath available in 2 bedroom/2 bath newly renovated condo in the heart of Midtown. There is a grocery store, drug store, and restaurants galore within a stone’s throw of the condo. Rent ($ 700) includes all utilities (cable, internet, electricity, trash pickup, water), use of washer/dryer and access to the property amenities (pool, barbeque area, workout facility…). Parking space available upon request.

About me: I am a 32 year old professional woman, and have lived here for two years. I have one very personable cat. I am quite social so I am not sitting at home often, but I am quiet when I’m there. I have lived abroad and have lots of experience with living with a roomie and am pretty clean.

About you: You are a professional or a grad student, pretty clean too and respectful of your surroundings and the sleep schedule of your roommate. You are ok with sharing the common area with me and my cat (he is not a lapcat).

I’ve had great success with women roommates, but am open to anyone who can provide personal references (I’ll provide mine too). Condo pictures available upon email request.

I'm looking for an inexpensive room to rent for about 9 months - until I get married.

Long story short, my current place of residence has gotten pretty out of hand, and the homeowner, one of my roommates, along with the other roommate, do not like cleaning or keeping the place well kept. I'm looking to move out as quickly as possible.

I'm 27 years old, I work for CNN (early mornings), and I've been going to Trinity for about four years, going consistently for the past year. I'm a laid back dude, just looking for a nice quiet place to live...

I just purchased a home in Capitol View, near Ft. McPherson and Perkerson Park (convenient to I-20 and 75/85, just 6 miles south of Trinity), and am looking for roommates. Asking $395 for rent plus utilities. Utilities should be fairly low as the house has nine foot ceilings and an attic fan, reducing the need for A/C; also, I plan on putting in a wood-burning stove for the winter. Rent is negotiable for use of an upstairs room. The house is spacious, with living room , dining room, large kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, plenty of storage space. I'll be getting cable and Internet, but may wait until I know I have a roommate moving in. One final perk, a number of Trinity attenders live in the neighborhood.

I would love to answer any questions. God bless!

In Christ,

Hello!

Just want to extend an invitation to anyone who may be interested in joining us to take some kids from the Vine City area to see E.T. at Screen on the Green, Thursday, June 19th.

Screen on the Green is no longer being held at Piedmont Park, but has been relocated to Centennial Park.

We will be meeting at Drew and Diane Henley's house, 138 Sunset Avenue, 30314, and will be walking from there to the park. It is only about a 15 minute walk and will save the headache of parking.

The movie starts at dark, which is around 9:00 these days. We will be meeting at 7:00 p.m. to allow for tardy's and to give us enough time to get on over there and get a good spot for the group.

If you are interested in joining us or have any questions, please shoot me an email at tesdavison@gmail.com. Or you can give me a call at 404.421.6978.

Food and beverages are allowed in the park, as well as blankets and low-back chairs. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed to be brought in, but can be purchased from vendors.

Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone,

Trinity and the Vine City community are having our second picnic June 22 at 1:00pm. It will be held at Washington Park (102 Ollie St. NW at the corner of Lena St. NW 30314).

Food arrangements will be the same as last time, bring enough for yourself (we will have grills available, so feel free to bring stuff to cook) and bring a little to share.

Games will be played - if you have equipment like ultimate frisbees, baseball/softball gear, footballs, and soccerballs please bring them, and if you can help co-ordinate the games, even better.

We are starting late enough that even if you go to the 12:30 service please come on over, we will just be getting rolling. There are 2 large playgrounds, so it's a great time for the whole family.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
Jonathan

P.s. As usual with any downtown event remember to put your valuables in your trunk.

hello!
I came across an adorable little kitten a few weeks ago that was freely given to rainy conditions in a box on the sidewalk outside of a wal-mart.
It bothered me a little bit so I bought some kitty food, a litter-box, a bed and brought it in my home.
The kitten is probably about 10 weeks old and is a long-haired, white coat, blue-eyed siamese. It is cute and playful.. like most kittens.
I'm really not home enough for its attention and I'm just looking for a better home for it. The poor thing is probably very lonely and in need of a better home as I am gone 13 hours out of the day and when I am home it is for sleeping, fortunately yet unfortunately.
If anyone is interested in the kitten and its appliances or if you have any suggestions just shoot me an email. It's adorably free!

You don't even need experience! Just the desire to learn how to do hair-we will teach you everything else! So, if you are a hard worker and like working with people, I would love to talk to you!

Christian Community in Grant Park

I am the Director of an urban ministry program named DOOR (and an evening worshipper at Trinity). DOOR owns a house in Grant Park that we are looking to fill with Christians who are interested in living in community. The rent would be $450/month and each person in the house would agree to attend a weekly house community night. During the community night we would have book discussions and Bible study. Our first book will be Shane Claiborne's "The Irresistible Revolution". Also, each person in the house would participate in a house ministry project 2-4 hours per week. At the beginning of the year (September) the community would choose the ministry. For example, tutoring at the local elementary school. Then each person would be involved in that ministry, not necessarly at the same time as everyone else, but in some way during the week. The ministry could be related to homelessness, shelter, food... the skies the limit. If you are interested in learning more, please contact me. 678-596-8122 or jannan@doornetwork.org. I forgot...The house has 7 bedrooms, so everyone would have their own room, but would share two bathrooms, kitchen and living space. If you are interested in learning more about DOOR, please check out our webiste at www.doornetwork.org. Thanks!
